Wind turbine application approved
Fantastic news! We are excited to announce that our application for the installation of a wind turbine on the site in Tongeren-Oost has been approved. This positive development marks a significant milestone on the path to sustainable energy generation and contributes to the green ambitions of Lecoque Eggs and the wider community.
With an impressive tip height of 200 meters and a rotor of 117 meters, this turbine will soon make a real contribution to our energy supply. These physical specifications optimize the efficiency of the turbine, allowing us to color 90% of our energy supply completely green. This not only contributes to powering 5,000 households but also significantly reduces our ecological footprint.
With this approval, Lecoque Eggs embarks on an exciting construction story: first, the foundation will be laid, followed by the erection of the tower. Subsequently, the rotor and blades will be assembled. During these construction activities, the local area can expect some level of construction activity and material transportation.
In addition to this exciting development, Lecoque Eggs remains committed to sustainability on various fronts. In 2011, we took significant steps to reduce the ecological impact of our cooling installations. In response to regulations regarding the use of HCFKs, we decided to systematically replace our outdated cooling systems with new ones based on ammonia. Together with our advanced water purification system, we are gradually completing our efforts to reduce our ecological footprint.
